Sydney University Hacks Its Bell Tower To Play The Freaking Game Of Thrones Theme
Yeah, you read right: the goddamn University of Sydney — those smartypantses — rigged their bell tower so it would play the incredible opening theme to Game Of Thrones. This is awesome.
This video was uploaded — and presumably captured — on Friday outside the main hall of the University of Sydney, and the jaunty bells are ringing out in clear, crisp harmony, the theme to Game of Thrones.
This needs to happen at Berkeley.
Hi Tumblr!
If you visit my blog, you’ll notice there’s now a donate button in the sidebar. Why might you ask?
Well, today I was invited to be a part of the Google Glass Explorers program, making me one of the first 8000 people who will be able to get their hands on this new technology and use it to create whatever we feel like creating.
I applied for the contest via Twitter, pitching a first person narrative/perspective web series about being young and queer in the Bay Area. It’ll be semi-scripted, building off of experiences I’ve had as a queer woman living in Berkeley and San Francisco, with a voice-over by the narrator/wearer providing the dialogue and exposition to the action being filmed via the Google Glass headset. How they walk, how they stand, how they engage with the world around them will be captured from their exact POV, giving you the closest possible experience to being in their shoes.
If there’s enough interest in the project after a few test episodes, I’d love to share my Glass with other members of the LGBTQ community and work with them to recreate their life experiences.
Additionally, I hope to bring by Google Glass with me to community events and activism around Northern California, taking the boots on the ground approach to showing the wider world what its like to be in the midst of such happenings.
Whatever you can give, it would be deeply DEEPLY appreciated and if you leave your mailing address in the donation form, I will DEFINITELY send you something delicious or crafty or crafty & delicious because there’s no way I’m becoming an Explorer on my own.
THANKS!
So I’m ashamed to admit that I still watch the train wreck that is Glee from time to time. And I’m even more ashamed to be reblogging Glee, BUT…
